Michelle Obama by David Colbert

Michelle Obama by David Colbert, is actually a children's biography- and really well done- about 100 pages. This is an easy read for adults and focuses on Michelle but in the context of American history. I really liked this, because it wasn't a book written as a cheer leading rah rah support of Michelle but rather put her accomplishments in context of the country's history. For example while discussing her father and his disability, it goes into detail about his family, their connection to a small South Carolina town, and the relationship to slavery or her mother's family and their possible racial integration due to the laws in the south. Nicely written, informative and not in a format that makes a political statement.
